Christmas Special!

I'm not quite dead yet, just been pretty busy, as is usual for Christmas time!

Made myself another set of Polly & Clayton figures, and also some typical Santa, Reindeer and Snowmen figures. Tried to do something a bit more exciting with the backdrops as well.

Halloween Special!

Running very late, but here now, is the Manda's Marvellous Mysteries Halloween Special!

It's also a chance to introduce my two newest characters, Polly and Clayton! They enjoy a good spot of dressing up, and are going to be appearing in a range of different costumes for the foreseeable future.

For now we have Polly & Clayton, Series 1 - Halloween Special!

I've also been toying with the idea of trying out a combination of my figure work and my paintings, similar to a project I did at University a few years back, so I created these illustrations as well.

Vampire was originally going to have his own Scary House backdrop, but it wasn't going to be finished in time.

As a bonus, have some lineart for each Polly and Clayton outfit before I coloured them!

A mixed bag this lot!

It's been a bit hectic here, what with my boyfriend looking for a job, possibly having to move, then him getting a job where we didn't have to move afterall, but once that was all over I could get back to my beloved Polymer Clay and get making again!

...Soooo I made a load more christmas decorations... I don't think our tree will be big enough to hold all of them!

I have got a list of ideas of video game characters to make and other figurines, but I'm holding off on starting anything really substantial until the new year, when I'll have a little more money and won't be distracted by cool things like HALLOWEEN and CHRISTMAS! Sqwee.

Anyway, I have been making a few things, I decided to focus on making some smaller decorations, but they'd be in sets of 4 [or 5 in one case]. Anyway enough chatting, more pictures!

Christmas Themed Kirbys! Rudolph kirby had an antler accident... And I love Chilly. So much. Chilly is love. Probably my favourite Helper ever.

Pacman! And ghosts. Originally only ghosts.... but then it felt weird with no Pacman... so they got a slightly wonky looking pacman to join them.

Kingdom Hearts Heartless - The Music Quartet... I have no idea what they should actually be collectively called... I just loved the 4 colour idea, and I've always found these guys pretty cute... even if their tendency to fly around and be annoying is frustrating XD They do have little legs, but they're not glued on yet, cause then they wouldn't be able to stand like this for a photo...

Animal Crossing Snow Family... They looked so easy... But I had to make sure they were the perfect size or they'd be SAD. Plus they required a lot of sanding and buffing to keep them nice and white.

Animal Crossing Jingle the Reindeer. He's a REINDEER. Automatically I love him. He does have his presents sack, but it's white so... you can't see it!

Dragon Quest Slimes. These were... not exactly a challenge. But Slimes! So cute. Making the metal slime though... I had the twinkliest hands ever. Took forever for it to all come off. I think everything on my desk is now also slightly silvery. *sigh*

Aaaand that's all for now. I might be making a few things to go in the shop, I'm not sure yet, but I do know that October is dedicated to non-gaming Halloween figurines so I won't have time to make too much else.

Toodles!

As usual, all characters and designs are © their respective owners, NINTENDO, SQUARE-ENIX, NAMCO BANDAI.

My hands say it's time for no more felt...

Surprisingly, sewing felty things is worse for my hands than working with Polymer clay can be XD I keep stabbing myself in the hand with the pins and needles! So clumsy.

I've still got a lot of designs planned out on paper, but I think I'm a little felted out for now, and I hear the alluring call of clay on the horizon.

I did finish 3 sets though...well 2 sets and one 'misc' set.

Harvest Moon Set - Dog, Chicken, Sheep, Cow

Mario Baddies - Goomba, Bobomb, Boo, Chain Chomp

Misc - Chibiterasu [Okamiden], Heartless [Kingdom Hearts], Wooly [Rune Factory], Rabite [Mana Series]

There will also be a small selection of these going up in my store later today, but if there's one here you like that I haven't got in the store, then drop me a message and I'll see about making a few of the other designs possibly.

Something a little felty...

So, I have pretty much run out of FIMO/Sculpey. Well, the most common colours, if you wanted something in Metallic Jade Green or Metallic Ice Blue we'd be fine. but almost everything else is out of the question!

I've even finally managed to use up all of the 'generic brown' [Caramel no 7 FIMO soft I think] that I bought.... 4 years ago when I was working on my final project at university. I bought one of the big blocks and now it's all goooooone. Sad day.

Well to scratch the 'making' itch I decided to design and sew myself some felt decorations instead.

Chocobo, Tonberry, Cactuar and Moogle
Bomb, Ahriman and Mandragora

Only having 3 in the last set annoys me... I've been wracking my brain for a last one, and I think I may make a Spriggan from FFXIV.

I've got about 4 A3 pages of designs from other games and some animal designs too, so I should be busy with felt for a little while...

UNTIL I GO ON A FIMO BUYING BINGE AGAIN. NYAHAHAHAHA.

Being busy

Feels like I haven't updated in like a billion years, and it's actually only been a few weeks! D'oh!

I've not been sitting around doing nothing though, and I've got a few projects stewing in my head so there should be a few new updates soon!

In Shop News, these little guys are now available to purchase!

FFXIV Minions, Cactuar, Chocobo, Bomb and Tonberry!

I was also busy making this guy, who has already sold, but he can go here for archival purposes!

Jowy went to his new home along with Riou.

And I got around to updating my policies and shipping rates on Etsy, so I now ship... lots of places! If you reside somewhere I haven't listed, then please contact me and I can hopefully sort out shipping for you!

Redesign time!

Yes, the blog has had a tiny facelift, nothing too major, it still looks like it was thrown together but now I can distract you with the pretty paint background.

Plus now Mini Manda has a box. What's in the box? Who knows. It's a mystery!

Edit - Just remembered, I'm also planning to update my shop a bit, with international shipping rates, and tidy up contact options and such within the next week or so...so there's that too.

Final Fantasy XIV Minions!

Final Fantasy XIV! Woo! I originally bought it to just see pretty places and such, not planning to actually play properly as I'm not much of an MMO person...and then got a bit hooked. I'm still not much of an MMO person, but I still love this game a bit too much XD

So I originally started these last year, and then stuff happened and then Christmas and such and so I didn't finish them all... And there are still a few more I'd like to make some time.

I'm quite proud of some of them, ambivalent about others, and frustrated with a couple of them, but nevermind.

The full post has closeups of each of them, but the formatting is pretty weird. so there's that.

Fantasy Life Part 2!

I actually finished these last week, I've just been a bit slow with putting them up online XD

But here we go, Part 2 of the Fantasy Life Extravaganza!

Yuelia

Yuelia Back View

Noelia

Noelia Back View - Camera hated it XD

Pam

Her hair ended up weighing a ton XD

Princess Laura - That dress drove me nuts

King Erik - I love that crown though

Daemon / Damien

All his gold parts made my hands all twinkly

Olivia - Pirate Mode.
Not sure about the face

She looks a bit wonky from the back,
hair is nice though

Leilah - She looks so confused, poor thing.
Plus that FIMO gradient....

Just had enough of this colour left for
 her hair

Pino - He was a menace.
So cute though.

He looked so simple,
yet he had lots of details to add

Leo - My favourite.
Shush, don't tell the others...

His little arrows keep falling out.

Robin - He was nice and simple.
The hat used too much FIMO though XD
