Blog posts are like buses...

You wait for one, and three come along at once...

So, after I'd finished planning out lots of cute, little things to try and make... I decided to not make any of them yet.

I got distracted. By this cute little guy...

That face...So cute.

So yeah, while I was looking through my image folders of things to possibly make, I stumbled across Tantarian, an optional boss monster from FFIX, which I must have saved an image of ages ago. He looked at me, I looked at him...It was fate.

He's too big for my normal little photo nook corner...
The book pages are actual paper pages I made, which smell of coffee [eww], because the teastained style just wasn't cutting it. His ribbon bookmark, page finder, thing, is actually made of a tube of ribbon, with a wire inside to give it the shape. Everything else is made of Polymer clay as usual. He's...not quite the same proportions as the ingame version...Maybe this is a baby Tantarian. I'm thinking of painting him a library backdrop to sit in front of when he gets his proper picture taken.

I still think he's cute anyway. Plus he has re-awoken my enthusiasm, and the Bravely Default project is back on!

The front/back of his book. The flash seems to have highlighted all the shiny fingerprints you can't see in real life.
Why yes, I did decided to make the front and back covers of his book as well, even though no one will ever see them... Why? Because I am a lunatic and making the parts that no one will actually get to see is one of those irritating little quirks I have. Woe is me.

Bravely Default Part 3

They've been sitting on the shelf for... probably almost a month now, but I finally got round to finishing the paintwork on them [I hate that part] and so now they can join their brethren here, on the blog.

I wasn't very happy with the way the faces turned out on the previous ones, so I spent some time prodding my templates and design sheets, and decided to try out a new method of transferring the faces to the plain head shapes. I think it worked out alright. Might still need a little tweaking. Of course, now they don't really match the previous ones...but I'm not going to go back and remake those ones! >.<

Spellfencer Edea
I forgot to take a photograph of the set altogether after I painted them so...

We'll have a shoddy one from before they were painted to tide us over.

What's in a title anyway?

As usual, it's been forever since I got round to updating again....

March was... a bit of a mess really XD It started out alright, with my birthday, but then the day after I got sick which was... less alright =P Nothing serious but still distracting. I did update the blog a little with a few changes [for better or worse!] and managed to finish off the third set of Bravely Default figures. I had hoped to get another set done before Easter, but it just didn't seem to end up happening. Spent Easter visiting my parents [Mmm free food] , got back planning to knuckle down and finish Bravely Default set Four and... Nope.... Wasn't happening.

I've never been very good at longtime projects, I tend to get bored and lose interest after about 2 weeks of working on something, but I suppose I thought this might be different, given that it wasn't one large item, but many, separate small items. But I ended up getting all 'burnt out' and losing all enthusiasm for the whole thing, which is lame.

So in an attempt to 'reboot' and get psyched up again, I decided to try making something else! Or at least, planning a few other things. I mostly wanted to see about some smaller, cutesier things...Palate cleansers I suppose =P
