BRAVELY DEFAULT PROJECT!

WE'VE REACHED THE HALFWAY MARK!

PARTYTIME!

Or...perhaps not.

So yeah, that's half of the Sets complete! 20 out of 40 figures! Well... I am also planning to make each character in their Freelancer, or normal outfits...so really it'll be 44 figures and we're not 'actually' halfway... But shush.

No one sneeze now... I think they'd go down like dominoes >.<

I am already running out of shelf space...

I have however, been 'advised' by my 'Managing Director', better known as my long-suffering Boyfriend, that I should 'perhaps refrain' from making 'people figures' for a little while...

Which totally has nothing to do with me getting rather frustrated recently with the little things and threatening to snap their heads off because I didn't like their faces. Nothing at all...

...

I still don't like their faces very much. But apparently I would regret snapping their heads off later... Pish posh.

Anyway, this does mean I'll be packing them up for a little while and focussing on some other things, mostly cute things. I did recently start playing Fire Emblem Awakening finally, so we'll see if I can get away with making something from that, even though it would be a 'people figure' XD.

Bravely Default Part 4 AND 5!

Bravely Default Set 4 and 5 are now done! I did actually finish most of Set 4 a while back, but I wanted to leave the hair until later when I could do it with Set 5, as then I would know how much I'd have to mix up altogether.

Set 4
White Mage Tiz
Ninja Agnes
Thief Ringabel
Monk Edea
Set 5

Spell Fencer Tiz
White Mage Agnes
Monk Ringabel
Thief Edea

Shop Update

What was supposed to be the April Shop Restock Event... is now the May Shop Restock Event!

I've renewed all the listings that expired forever ago... and added a couple of new things. I've got a few things that might actually go in the store planned but... well... we'll see how that pans out!

Blog posts are like buses...

You wait for one, and three come along at once...

So, after I'd finished planning out lots of cute, little things to try and make... I decided to not make any of them yet.

I got distracted. By this cute little guy...

That face...So cute.

So yeah, while I was looking through my image folders of things to possibly make, I stumbled across Tantarian, an optional boss monster from FFIX, which I must have saved an image of ages ago. He looked at me, I looked at him...It was fate.

He's too big for my normal little photo nook corner...
The book pages are actual paper pages I made, which smell of coffee [eww], because the teastained style just wasn't cutting it. His ribbon bookmark, page finder, thing, is actually made of a tube of ribbon, with a wire inside to give it the shape. Everything else is made of Polymer clay as usual. He's...not quite the same proportions as the ingame version...Maybe this is a baby Tantarian. I'm thinking of painting him a library backdrop to sit in front of when he gets his proper picture taken.

I still think he's cute anyway. Plus he has re-awoken my enthusiasm, and the Bravely Default project is back on!

The front/back of his book. The flash seems to have highlighted all the shiny fingerprints you can't see in real life.
Why yes, I did decided to make the front and back covers of his book as well, even though no one will ever see them... Why? Because I am a lunatic and making the parts that no one will actually get to see is one of those irritating little quirks I have. Woe is me.

Bravely Default Part 3

They've been sitting on the shelf for... probably almost a month now, but I finally got round to finishing the paintwork on them [I hate that part] and so now they can join their brethren here, on the blog.

I wasn't very happy with the way the faces turned out on the previous ones, so I spent some time prodding my templates and design sheets, and decided to try out a new method of transferring the faces to the plain head shapes. I think it worked out alright. Might still need a little tweaking. Of course, now they don't really match the previous ones...but I'm not going to go back and remake those ones! >.<

Spiritmaster Tiz
Salvemaker Agnes
Merchant Ringabel
Spellfencer Edea
I forgot to take a photograph of the set altogether after I painted them so...

We'll have a shoddy one from before they were painted to tide us over.

What's in a title anyway?

As usual, it's been forever since I got round to updating again....

March was... a bit of a mess really XD It started out alright, with my birthday, but then the day after I got sick which was... less alright =P Nothing serious but still distracting. I did update the blog a little with a few changes [for better or worse!] and managed to finish off the third set of Bravely Default figures. I had hoped to get another set done before Easter, but it just didn't seem to end up happening. Spent Easter visiting my parents [Mmm free food] , got back planning to knuckle down and finish Bravely Default set Four and... Nope.... Wasn't happening.

I've never been very good at longtime projects, I tend to get bored and lose interest after about 2 weeks of working on something, but I suppose I thought this might be different, given that it wasn't one large item, but many, separate small items. But I ended up getting all 'burnt out' and losing all enthusiasm for the whole thing, which is lame.

So in an attempt to 'reboot' and get psyched up again, I decided to try making something else! Or at least, planning a few other things. I mostly wanted to see about some smaller, cutesier things...Palate cleansers I suppose =P

Bravely Default Project begins...

Thus starts my largest project so far...

I've decided to make a figurine for each job class in the game Bravely Default [with a few exceptions...], and I decided to make 1 of either Tiz/Ringabel and Agnes/Edea. This is because the male/female costumes for each class can be quite different, but the differences between each character [ie Tiz or Ringabel] are less noticeable...and if I made 4 figurines for each class I'd end up with... 80 or so figurines in the end! I'd go mad!... Not that that isn't going to happen anyway XD

For now I'm not planning on making three of the classes - Valkyrie, Time Mage and Dark Knight. This is due to their costumes having... elements I'm simply not sure I'd be able to make work in size constraints, and on a personal level, I consider the potential frustration at trying to make those classes is not worth the 'feel-good' factor of having made a 'complete' set XD

I've tried to split it so Tiz/Agnes and Ringabel/Edea are spread across a variety of jobs, although there are some choices made solely cause I liked one outfit better than another, or I felt the class fitted that character better than another.

Well, that's enough boring talk, time for some pictures! I've actually finished two sets by now, kept meaning to post after finishing the first one but I kept forgetting >.<

Set 1 - This was actually my endgame party set up XD
Knight Tiz
Spiritmaster Agnes
Ninja Ringabel
Black Mage Edea

Set 2 - Would be more efficient to do both male/female of classes at the same time but...that's boring!
Salve Maker Tiz
Knight Agnes
Black Mage Ringabel
Merchant Edea
